My latest project was a neon ballet production of midsummer nights dream. The character I have designed for was Titania, I used feathers to accentuate a very feminine silhouette, considering Titania is the Queen of Fairies. This is the project I am probably most proud of to date.
One of our first year projects was to create a tailored cowboy shirt. I added a British theme and decided to hand embellish a union jack across the chest, an absolute 3 week marathon of sequin and bead sewing it was finally complete!
An old piece I produced for my FMP in my foundation year! The telephone box is more about concept than the actual execution. It is a statement of the different perceptions of Britain. I built the telephone box from scratch to the exact dimensions using 3x2, MDF, perspex, and fibre glass.
First year fake food project, a moulding and casting exercise, we used actual food, in my case, actual fish were cast, because of the exothermic properties of plaster it was not a very pleasant task!
First year work for props, we had to make an entire Greek of Roman statue out of paper mache, filler paste and calico, I chose Medusa. It was a live brief for the education department at the Historic quay, Hartlepool but has since been used at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle, and the Playhouse, Billingham.
For my current set project we are a working on a production for the Theatre Royal, Newcastle. We are designing a Victorian Parlour with illusions for a show called ‘Is there any body there?’
